A native of Rosevine, I began my journey as a self-taught artist during the COVID pandemic, picking up painting simply as a way to stay busy. What started as a pastime quickly grew into a true passion. Several years later, I had the opportunity to study under an art teacher specializing in oil painting with a palette knife, and I spent about a year taking weekly lessons to refine my technique.
Since then, my work has been recognized in multiple competitions, earning four art contest awards—three in the Plano area—and most recently, a 1st place finish in the Savor East Texas contest hosted by the Pineywoods Artisan Collective.
I primarily work in oils using a palette knife and consider my style rooted in realism, while also exploring elements of impressionism in my work.
